How to record using Hi-Q Recorder
You have already loaded the Hi-Q Recorder software and set it up. You have plugged in you microphone and have the text in front of you. You are sitting comfortably. It's time to begin!
Go back to the main Hi-Q Recorder window. At the bottom you will see the familiar buttons for record, stop, pause, play and select file to play. Immediately above is the slider bar for play position. When you are ready to record, click the left hand button (record) - it has a red dot in the centre to indicate it is the record button, just like real tape recorders have. As you speak you will see the recording levels move side to side. Here is an example from when I made a test recording which I saved to a file called "gash".
As you can see this shot was taken after 18 seconds of recording and 0.21Mb of file space had been used. I still have a lot of recording to do to use up the 210Mb remaining on my hard disc! And that's it! When you have finished your recording click "Stop", the second button from the left (has a blue square in the centre). Your recording will have been saved to the file name you specified earlier. If you go to that folder you will see something like this (this is my gash file, from above)
If you double click on your recording you will be able to listen to yourself. When you are happy, send the file to me (Phil Wright) through the address shown in i-church. |
